The NeX-Nucleo of Economics and Complexity (PPGDE-UFPR) and SPRU-Science Policy Research Unit (Sussex University) in cooperation with INET-Young Schoolar Initiave (YSI), are organizing the Workshop on Economic Complexity and Development: Growth, Structural Change and Sustainability.
The Workshop will be an opportunity for academics, policy makers, and the public to discuss frontier research and its application to policy on topics related to economic development from a complexity perspective.
NeX & SPRU Summer School on Computational Methods and Agent Based Modelling in Economics – 2019
The NeX & SPRU announce the Summer School on Computational Methods and Agent Based Modelling in Economics – 2019 edition, which will happen on 2nd to 6th of December at Federal University of Paraná, Curitiba Brazil. The School is part of the Advances on Economic and Development: Economics and Complexity program. It is a 5-day school on Economics, Complexity and Agent-based Modelling using LSD-Laboratory for Simulation and Development. The summer school is addressed to highly motivated graduate and PhD students as well as researchers and experienced modelers interested in computational social sciences.

The NeX's Day – Monthly Seminar 2019
The NeX’s Day Seminars is a monthly meeting aimed at discussing and advancing relevant research themes in Economics and Complexity. It is an opportunity to professors, researchers and graduate students to get in touch with the frontier of the economic science, discuss your research, get feedbacks and expand your academic network.
NeX & SPRU Agreement 2018-2020
NeX and SPRU have assigned a Collaboration Agreement which will help to leverage research on Economics and Complexity in Brazil and UK, under the grants of British Academy. The project aims to Build Capacity on Collaborative Research on Complexity and Economic Development and will be conducted by Prof. Tommaso Ciarli (Sussex) and João Basilio Pereima (NeX-UFPR). By the project NeX & SPRU will promote seminars, workshop and courses in Brazil and conduct research on Economics and Complexity.
